Reset Sessions FAQs

What happens in a taster session?

It lasts about 45 minutes and is split into 2 parts. First of all, I explain how it works. Then if you are happy to continue, there is a closed eye process that takes about 20 minutes, where we tackle a problem in your life - one that is in the 'annoying' category. During this time you are awake and relaxed. Think of it as like being led through a very relaxing visualisation - except you don't even need to visualise anything.

In my experience taking 40 people through this intro session, everyone (apart from 2 people) enjoyed the experience immensely and felt great afterwards too. the 2 who didn't get anything out of the session did not have a bad experience - rather it was a neutral experience for them. You have nothing to lose, except maybe 45 mins of your day.

What’s the difference between this and hypnotherapy?

I have had hypnotherapy, and in my experience the difference is that a hypnotherapist is directly influencing the unconscious. The client is 100% reliant on the hypnotherapist to make the changes they want to see.

In The Reset, I get your higher mind to calm the unconscious and make it feel safe. This process is set in a context of focusing on the life you want to create, rather than solving specific problems. You are empowered to support and build on the changes that happen during sessions yourself. By contrast, hypnotherapy is essentially a passive experience where the practitioner holds all the power.

The Reset process, because it allows you access to your higher mind (which knows that you are essentially safe), was able to do what hypnotherapy could not: calm my unconscious and give it powerful messages of safety.

What happens in a session?

We start by focusing on what on what you want to create (as opposed to the very limited focus on problem solving): for example health and vitality, prosperity, a life you love, a playful and connected relationship.

We explore what this looks like for you.

Then there is a closed eye process where I connect your higher mind with your unconscious and allow it to communicate positive messages to the unconscious. It is generally a very relaxing process and people feel great throughout and afterwards.

Can it treat trauma?

I have used this method to successfully process decades of stuck childhood sexual trauma. I remember another coach talking about how suicidal ideation used to be “his best friend” and that this process was the thing that put a stop to that.

However, the experience is not like being treated in the sense that a healing therapy such as EMDR would treat you. If you are interested in The Reset for dealing with trauma, the best thing is to speak to me because everyone's situation is unique. While I would never claim to treat anyone's trauma, I can tell you that as a tool it is unique - nothing has come close in terms of allowing me to process and release my trauma. It is essential that you understand that this is not a magic fix. Too many people have tried to mis-sell me deep transformation as some kind of easy fix. I will not try to fob anyone off with any overblown promises about treating their trauma - but there are amazing possibilities if you approach The Reset as a tool rather than a magic pill.

Who trained you?

This process originates from the work of Dr Gary Flint. The method, which I am a certified coach in, is called Magnetic Mind and the closed eye process is called The Recode. You can find more information about the company that trained me at magneticmind.com.au.

Why shouldn't I just have sessions with the people who trained you?

That is definitely an option. The difference between them and me is that their sessions are much bigger. You are one of hundreds on a call. It is no different from watching a YouTube live video. By contrast, there is a limit of 15 people (sometimes less) on my calls. Everyone gets a chance to get speak. The more I know about participants' needs and intentions, the better I am able to connect to their higher mind. It is far more personal, far more tailored to your individual needs.

Can you guarantee results?

No. The Reset is a tool that you use. Most people find it is super relaxing, and it is possible to see good results treating it as a passive recipient of treatment, as you would a massage. However, to really make the most of it, you need to work on taking aligned action

Is it safe? Will you put me in a trance and steal my PIN number?

Yes, no and no! During the closed eye Recode process you will be in a state of deep relaxation - but aware. Hypnotherapists call this state a trance, but I do not like that word, because of the associations with stage hypnotism and so on. The truth is that if the unconscious feels threatened, it will create a stress reaction that will put you on your guard (think about a salesperson trying to push you to buy something you don't need). Out of everyone who has had a taster session with me (about 40 people), two have got nothing out of it because they were not receptive to the process. Their unconscious was on guard and made them 'Reset-proof'.

Who does this work best for?

This works best for people who are open minded to trying something new.

For people who have felt down by, or had limited success with, hypnotherapy.

For people who are sick of being sold easy fixes. Sick of being told how to improve themselves (Newsflash: you are fine as you are). Tired of sitting in therapist's offices excavating their difficult childhood/terrible marriage/low self-esteem and just feeling worse.

Life doesn't have to be this hard.

Who is this not for?

If you have read everything on this page and you feel suspicious rather than intrigued, it's probably not worth trying for you.

I have led about 40 people through The Reset process. Two of them got zero benefit, and it is my observation that both of them wanted to fully understand how it worked in order to be open to it working. The truth is that because we are working behind the level of the conscious mind, it is not entirely explicable. If that feels unacceptable to you, stop reading now because it will not work for you.

I have worked successfully with people from very scientific/left-brained professions such as the law, psychiatry and engineering. What they all had in common was that they were all open-minded to trying The Reset process before judging it.
